A set of three conical polishing sponges designed for work in hard-to-reach places — the nooks of alloy and steel wheels, exhaust tips and other recesses in bodywork. The conical shape of the sponge allows you to reach places that standard flat pads cannot. The set includes three hardness grades, so you can match the sponge to the type of work — from applying products to finishing polishing.
The sponge tapers from 72 mm at the base to 32 mm at the tip. This profile allows work in the grooves between wheel spokes, around the wheel bolts and in other recesses where a flat sponge cannot reach effectively.
The orange sponge (soft) is for gentle finishing polishing and applying waxes. The blue one (medium) works well for removing light scratches and dullness. The yellow one (hard) is intended for paint correction and work with more aggressive polishing compounds.
The 6 mm diameter, 28 mm long shank fits the chucks of electric and air drills fitted with a standard three-jaw chuck. Before use, check the chuck range of your drill — most models accept a 6 mm shank.
The elongated sponge body, combined with the shank, allows you to reach deep into recesses, e.g. inside the wheel rim or at exhaust tips, without having to dismantle components.
| Model | KD1592 |
| Number of sponges in the set | 3 |
| Shank diameter | 6 mm |
| Shank length | 28 mm |
| Maximum sponge diameter | 72 mm |
| Minimum sponge diameter | 32 mm |
| Sponge length | 85 mm |
| Orange sponge | soft — finishing polishing, wax application |
| Blue sponge | medium — removing light paint defects |
| Yellow sponge | hard — paint correction, abrasive compounds |
The hardness of the sponge should be matched to the aggressiveness of the polishing compound used — a hard sponge with an abrasive compound is for removing deeper scratches and holograms, while a soft sponge with a gentle finishing wax delivers gloss without the risk of cutting through the paint. Always start with the less aggressive combination, testing the result on a small area.
