Deep Impact Socket 3/4" Drive 6-Point 23 mm CR-MO
A professional impact socket of deep-reach construction, designed for use with pneumatic and cordless power tools. Made from CR-MO chrome molybdenum steel, it withstands extreme loads in industrial applications.
Technical features
Long-reach construction
The LONG profile gives access to bolts and nuts recessed deep in mounting pockets, as found in braking systems, suspension and gearboxes. It performs where standard sockets are too short.
CR-MO chrome molybdenum steel
A material whose structure delivers both flexibility and hardness at the same time. It absorbs impact without cracking, retaining the profile geometry even under repeated impact loading. It outperforms CR-V steel when used with impact wrenches.
6-point profile
The hexagonal cross-section spreads the force evenly across the whole contact area with the nut. It reduces the risk of rounding the fastener corners, particularly where there is corrosion or the fastener is heavily tightened.
3/4" drive
A square drive measuring 19.05 mm (3/4 inch) — the standard for high-torque impact wrenches. Used in heavy industry, commercial vehicle workshops and construction machinery.

Difference between CR-MO and CR-V steel
The choice of socket material has a direct bearing on durability and safety at work. CR-MO steel (chrome molybdenum) differs from CR-V (chrome vanadium) in its mechanical properties:

Practical implications
CR-V sockets are suitable for use with hand tools (with a breaker bar). Where a pneumatic or power impact wrench is used — and the impact force exceeds what CR-V steel can take — CR-MO sockets are essential. Using the wrong material can lead to the tool cracking in use.

Use and maintenance
Selecting a power tool
3/4" sockets are used with impact wrenches with a torque of 300 Nm and above. Before use, check the maximum torque of the wrench and match it to the requirements of the application. Too little torque will not loosen the joint; too much may damage the thread.
Checking compatibility
The 23 mm size fits M14 and M16 nuts (depending on the standard). Before buying, it is worth verifying the fastener dimensions in the technical documentation of the vehicle or machine. A 6-point socket fits only hexagon bolts and nuts — not Torx, XZN or spline drive bolts.
Maintenance
After use, clean the socket of dirt and protect it with a thin film of oil. Store in a dry place, ideally on a magnetic rail or in an organiser. Check the condition of the internal profile regularly — rounded corners indicate wear and may lead to damaged nuts.
Retaining pin hole
The socket has a hole that allows a retaining pin to be fitted. The retainer stops the socket falling off the wrench when working in vertical or overhead positions, which improves safety in workshop conditions.
