An endless sanding belt for belt sanders, designed for working wood, metal, plastics and painted finishes. Silicon carbide abrasive grit bonded to a reinforced cotton cloth backing.
Silicon carbide abrasive grit has sharp edges and high hardness. It sands medium-hard materials effectively, including hardwoods, non-ferrous metals and painted finishes. The synthetic resin bond holds the grit firmly in place during intensive use.
P100 grain (approximately 125 μm particle diameter) is a medium grit used for intermediate sanding. It removes scratches left by coarser grits and prepares the surface for finishing. It leaves a lightly textured surface suitable for further sanding or direct painting.
The flexible cotton cloth increases the belt's tensile strength and resistance to tearing. The backing conforms to irregularities in the sanded surface, which matters when working profiled timber components. Its fibrous structure absorbs the stresses generated during use.
A belt 75 mm wide with a 457 mm circumference fits common belt sanders used in joinery and furniture manufacturing. Before buying, check the belt dimensions in the sander's instruction manual - manufacturers state the belt width and length (circumference).

The belt dimensions (75 x 457 mm) must match the belt sander's specification. The 75 mm width determines the roller width, and the 457 mm length is the belt circumference (the length of the belt when laid flat). This information is given in the machine's instruction manual or on its rating plate. Using belts of the wrong dimensions can damage the sander.
Fit the sanding belt in the direction of the arrow marked on the inside of the belt. The sander's instruction manual gives the correct belt tension - a belt that is too loose can slip off the rollers, while one that is too tight wears out faster.
Check the condition of the belt during use - worn abrasive grit loses its cutting ability, which shows as longer working times and overheating of the material. The belt needs replacing when the grit is smoothed over or the backing is damaged.
Storing belts in a dry room at room temperature prevents the backing from deforming. Belts should not be bent or folded - this can damage the abrasive layer and the backing.
