Flap disc for 115 mm angle grinders, designed for working metals, wood and plastics. Made from aluminium oxide with a P80 grit, it delivers efficient sanding and material removal while maintaining the durability of the abrasive grain.
A P80 grade to FEPA standard corresponds to a grain size of approximately 201 µm. It provides a balance between material removal rate and surface finish. Used for initial sanding before finishing and for removing rust, paint and coatings.
Aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃) has a Mohs hardness of 9 and good resistance to brittle fracture. During use the grains self-sharpen by fracturing into sharper edges, which extends the life of the disc and maintains a consistent sanding performance.
Overlapping abrasive flaps bonded to a fibreglass backing provide flexibility during use. This structure reduces vibration, minimises heat build-up in the material and allows irregular shapes and edges to be worked.
Suitable for ferrous metals (carbon steel, cast iron), stainless steel, non-ferrous metals (aluminium) and mixed materials such as wood and plastics. No need to change discs when moving between different materials within a single project.

Before fitting, check the bore diameter of the mounting hole on the grinder (22.23 mm as standard) and the maximum permitted disc diameter stated in the tool's manual. Make sure the rotational speed of the grinder does not exceed the maximum peripheral speed of the disc (typically 80 m/s for 115 mm discs).
While working, keep the angle of the grinder relative to the surface between 15 and 30 degrees. Do not apply excessive pressure – the weight of the tool is sufficient for effective sanding. Excessive pressure shortens the life of the disc and causes the material to overheat.
Use a rotational speed suited to the material: higher speeds for steel, lower speeds for aluminium and plastics. When sanding non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper), regularly clean clogged particles of material from the disc.
Store the disc in a dry place, away from sources of moisture. Moisture weakens the bond holding the abrasive grains together and shortens the life of the disc. Check the condition of the disc before use – cracks or mechanical damage rule it out for further use on safety grounds.
