The flat pry bar is a basic levering tool used for construction, renovation and workshop tasks. The YATO YT-46821 is forged from 65Mn manganese steel, which provides adequate mechanical strength while keeping the tool compact.
Manganese steel containing 0.62–0.70% carbon with added manganese offers increased hardness and wear resistance. The chemical composition of this alloy provides resistance to permanent deformation during tasks requiring high leverage forces. The material retains its mechanical properties under impact loads.
The hot forging process creates a uniform crystalline structure in the material with no internal stresses. Unlike cast or welded constructions, a forged tool has no weakened zones, which eliminates the risk of cracking at critical points. This technology increases tool life by 30–40% compared with alternative methods.
The 380 mm length is a compromise between leverage and the ability to work in confined spaces. The 35 mm blade width allows effective prising of wooden and metal components without excessive stress concentration. The 6 mm thickness provides rigidity while still allowing the tool to be inserted into narrow gaps.
The flat profile of the pry bar allows work in two planes and makes use of the full blade width as a working surface. The shape allows the tool to be used as a splitting wedge, a single-sided lever and a tool for straightening components. The flat design makes storage and transport easier.

When using the pry bar, wear work gloves and safety glasses. The tool should be positioned at an angle that ensures stability and control over the direction of the applied force. Do not extend the lever arm with pipes or use a hammer to strike the pry bar unless the manufacturer permits such use.
After use, clean the pry bar of any contamination and protect it against corrosion with a thin layer of machine oil. Regularly checking the condition of the blade helps detect any mechanical damage. Storing the tool in a dry place extends its service life. Do not expose the pry bar to prolonged moisture.
