Technical features
HEX hex shank
The hexagonal shank profile prevents the bit from slipping during use. Compatible with keyless chucks on drills, drill drivers and pillar drills, with no chuck key required.
Ground centring point
The sharp centring point allows you to start drilling precisely without the bit slipping away from the marked position. Particularly useful when drilling at an angle or on smooth surfaces.
Flat blade design

Tool compatibility
The bit fits hand drills, cordless drill drivers and pillar drills fitted with a hex shank chuck or universal chuck. Before starting work, check that the chuck size matches the HEX shank diameter.
Use and maintenance
A flat wood bit requires an appropriate rotational speed — too high a speed can scorch the wood, while too low a speed causes snatching and uneven hole edges. When drilling hardwood, use a lower speed and moderate pressure.
When drilling through, to avoid breakout on the exit side, place a piece of scrap wood underneath the material or drill to roughly half the depth and then finish the hole from the other side.
After use, clean resin and chips from the cutting edges. Carbon steel flat wood bits may need periodic sharpening with a flat file or whetstone, particularly with intensive use.
