A double-ended pipe spanner produced using hot forging technology, designed for fitting and removing pipe nuts and fittings in plumbing and pneumatic systems. Model YT-4918 combines 14 mm and 15 mm sizes in a single tool.
The forging process strengthens the crystalline structure of the steel, resulting in greater mechanical strength and resistance to twisting compared with cast spanners. The tool withstands impact loads without cracking.
The two most commonly used pipe nut sizes in a single tool. The 14 mm size corresponds to 1/4" fittings, while 15 mm is used on 3/8" connections and some metric fittings.
The internal jaw profile is matched to the shape of hexagonal pipe nuts, ensuring full contact across the entire mating surface. This minimises the risk of the spanner slipping and damaging the nut edges during tightening.
The long-arm design of the pipe spanner increases torque, making it possible to undo tightly seized or corroded connections without the need for additional extensions.

Before starting work, check that the jaw size matches the nut. The spanner should slide onto the nut with slight resistance – too loose a fit leads to damage to the edges. The 14 mm size is used mainly for 1/4" fittings, and 15 mm for 3/8" connections.
When tightening and loosening, pull the spanner towards yourself rather than pushing it away. Working in this way gives better control of the tool and reduces the risk of injury if the nut suddenly comes loose.
After finishing work, particularly after contact with water or other fluids, wipe the spanner dry. Periodic oiling prevents corrosion and makes it easier to slide onto nuts. Do not use the spanner as a lever or hammer – this shortens the life of the tool.
