Garden Extension Lead 30m K00242 KETLIN
An extension lead with a 30-metre cable, designed for use in the garden, workshop and on building sites. Fitted with H05VV-F cable with a 3x1.5mm² cross-section, providing a safe power supply for appliances up to 2300W.
Technical characteristics
3x1.5mm² cable cross-section
A three-core cable with a 1.5mm² cross-section per core allows a safe current of up to 10A to be carried. This means appliances up to 2300W (10A × 230V) can be powered. Sufficient for most garden tools and power tools.
H05VV-F cable
The H05VV-F designation denotes a flexible cable with PVC insulation, intended for a rated voltage of 300/500V. The letter F indicates a flexible construction, which makes the extension lead easy to uncoil and coil up. The PVC insulation provides basic protection against moisture.
IP20 rating
An IP20 rating means protection against access to live parts with fingers or objects over 12.5mm in diameter. There is no protection against water – the extension lead must be kept away from rain and direct contact with moisture.
30-metre length
A 30-metre reach allows work in distant parts of the garden or on larger plots without the need to join several extension leads together. At this length, it is worth bearing voltage drop in mind – it can matter for sensitive appliances.

Use and maintenance
Limitations of the IP20 rating
The extension lead has no protection against water. When used outdoors, the socket must be protected from rain, dew and moisture. The socket end should be placed under a cover or in a sheltered spot. After use, the extension lead should be stored in a dry room.
Maximum load
With a 3x1.5mm² cross-section and a 10A socket rating, the maximum power of appliances should not exceed 2300W. For long extension leads (over 25m), a safety margin should be left – especially with appliances that have electric motors, which draw more current during start-up.
Storage
The cable should be coiled loosely, avoiding sharp bends. Before putting it away, it is worth checking the condition of the insulation and plugs. Storing it in a dry place extends the life of the PVC insulation and protects metal parts from corrosion.
