A hand-crank rotary spreader designed for the even distribution of grass seed, fertiliser and granular materials. The plastic construction keeps the weight low while remaining fully functional in garden conditions.
The crank drive transfers rotary motion to the spinning disc. The speed at which the crank is turned directly affects the spreading range — slower turning produces a smaller radius, while faster turning increases the range to a maximum of 2 metres. This allows the spread to be matched to the width of the strip being sown.
A sliding control mechanism alters the size of the outlet opening, regulating the quantity of material fed onto the disc. A smaller opening is used for fine ornamental grass seed, a larger one for coarser seed or granular fertiliser. The adjustment helps prevent over-application and wasted material.
The 3-litre capacity is enough to sow approximately 50–80 m² of lawn (depending on sowing density and seed type). It allows work to continue without frequent refilling while keeping the unit lightweight — a full hopper weighs around 1.5–2 kg.
The body, made from durable polypropylene, is notable for its low weight and resistance to moisture and mineral fertilisers. The material does not rust on contact with damp seed or road salt. Easy cleaning after use extends the life of the unit.

Before filling the hopper, set the control to the required opening. Setting 1 is intended for fine grass seed (e.g. red fescue), setting 4 for coarser materials (fertiliser, salt). Seed should be poured into a dry hopper — damp seed can clump and block the flow.
During use, the spreader is held in front of the body while the crank is turned at a steady pace. Working in parallel strips with a slight overlap (around 20–30 cm) is recommended, as this ensures even coverage with no gaps. A consistent cranking speed guarantees a constant spreading width.
After use, empty the hopper and rinse it with water, particularly after applying fertiliser or salt. It is worth cleaning any residue from the control mechanism so that it does not jam the next time it is used. Store the spreader in a dry place with the control closed (this keeps dust out).
