GEKO G17380 GBS W1 Hose Clip 175-187 mm
A reinforced GBS-type hose clip with a bolt-type closure, designed for hose and line connections working under heavy loads. Made from W1 galvanised steel with a 1.7 mm thick band.
Technical features
Reinforced construction
A band 1.7 mm thick and 26 mm wide withstands high tightening torques. The design is intended for large-diameter, thick-walled hoses.
Bolt-type closure
The hex bolt system allows precise tightening and even distribution of the clamping force around the entire circumference of the hose. Operated with a standard socket spanner.
Protected edges
The curled edges of the band eliminate the risk of cutting or damaging the outer surface of the hose, even at the maximum clamping pressure required in pressurised systems.
W1 zinc coating
Electrogalvanising provides basic corrosion protection in non-corrosive environments. The W1 variant is intended for indoor use or dry conditions.

Selecting the right hose clip size
The 175-187 mm range refers to the outside diameter of the hose once it has been fitted onto the spigot. Before buying, measure the diameter of the hose fitted onto the connector – the clip should fit around the hose with a minimum clearance of 2-3 mm so that, once tightened, it provides sufficient clamping pressure without excessively deforming the material.
Fitting and use
Fit the clip over the hose already pushed onto the spigot, positioning it about 5-10 mm from the edge of the connector. Tighten it with a socket spanner or nut driver, increasing the torque gradually. On hoses with an internal metal helix, avoid excessive clamping pressure, which could deform the helix.
The bolt-type closure allows repeated fitting and removal without any loss of clamping performance. After the first tightening, it is advisable to check the clip again after 24 hours of operation – flexible materials may deform slightly, which requires the bolt to be re-tightened.
Environmental limitations
The W1 coating (electrogalvanised zinc) does not provide protection in chemically aggressive environments, in contact with seawater, or in conditions of high humidity. In such applications, use clips made of stainless steel or with a W4/W5 coating.
