Half-round metal file 200 mm YATO YT-62259
A hand file with a half-round profile designed for work on metals, plastics and hard wood. The single cut (designation #1) ensures effective removal of material in the workshop and during assembly work.
Features of the YATO half-round file
Half-round profile for universal use
The flat side is used for work on flat surfaces, while the rounded side allows work in holes, concave areas and curves. This shape removes the need to have two separate files.
Single-cut teeth (#1)
Single teeth set at an angle ensure fast material removal during roughing. The #1 designation indicates the coarseness of the cut – suitable for roughing and intermediate finishing work on soft and medium-hard metals.
200 mm working length
The 200 mm dimension represents a compromise between control of movement and work efficiency. It provides a sufficient working surface while retaining manoeuvrability in a confined workshop space.
Ergonomic three-component handle

Use and maintenance of the file
Working technique with a single-cut file
A file removes material only on the forward stroke – drawing it back without lifting it off the workpiece accelerates wear of the teeth. Pressure should be even along the entire length of the file. Excessive force does not increase efficiency but causes the teeth to clog with swarf.
Cleaning and storage
After finishing work, remove swarf with a wire brush drawn along the teeth. Files should be stored separately or in compartments to avoid damaging the teeth through contact with other metal tools. The working surface can be protected with a thin layer of anti-corrosion oil.
