The YATO YT-62359 round file is a hand tool for working metals, designed for smoothing holes, grooves and rounded surfaces. Its 200 mm length provides the reach needed for most fitting and mechanical work.
The round cross-section allows cylindrical holes, internal radii and grooves to be worked. It is used where flat files cannot reach – when enlarging holes, deburring internal edges or forming radii.
Cut #3 is a medium cut that removes material faster than fine files while still maintaining control over the surface finish. It is used for general fitting work where a balance between productivity and surface smoothness is required.
A length of 200 mm is the standard for hand tools, providing sufficient reach while maintaining precision and control of movement. Suitable for workshop work, equipment repairs and working medium-sized components.
The handle is made from three materials – a hard core, a cushioning layer and a non-slip coating – providing a stable grip and reducing hand fatigue during prolonged work. The design prevents the tool from slipping, which improves user safety.

Protective goggles should be worn when working with a file – small metal chips can fly towards the eyes. Work gloves are recommended to protect against cuts from the sharp edges of the material being worked. The file should be guided in a push stroke away from the body, maintaining a stable posture.
After work, clean the file's teeth with a wire brush, removing embedded metal chips. A clogged file loses its effectiveness and may scratch the surface instead of abrading it. Store the file in a dry place, separate from other tools, to avoid damaging the teeth.
Metal files are designed for working steel, cast iron, aluminium and other metals. They should not be used on wood, plastics or abrasive materials – this will quickly blunt the teeth. The appropriate cut and type of file is selected for each type of material.
