GEKO G72011 Hedge Shears - 520 mm
Manual shears designed for trimming hedges and ornamental shrubs. Fitted with HCS 50 steel blades and a non-stick PTFE coating that prevents corrosion and stops plant sap sticking to the blades.
Technical features
HCS steel blades with non-stick PTFE coating
HCS 50 tool steel keeps the cutting edges sharp for longer. The PTFE coating reduces friction while cutting, prevents corrosion and makes it easier to clean plant sap and resin off the blades.
Polypropylene handles
Polypropylene is resistant to moisture and low temperatures. It provides a secure grip even with wet hands, which matters when working in dew or after rain.
180 mm cutting blade length
This blade length lets you trim hedge surfaces efficiently while keeping the tool under control. It works well for shaping shrubs with medium-density growth.
Maximum cutting diameter 35 mm

Use and maintenance
Correct use
Hold the shears perpendicular to the direction of the cut. Work with steady, even strokes and do not force the blades. For thicker branches, use the leverage of the handles by positioning the branch closer to the pivot of the shears.
Blade maintenance
After use, clean plant debris and sap off the blades. The PTFE coating does not need oiling, but the pivot points should be lubricated periodically with machine oil. Before winter, protect the blades with a thin layer of protective oil.
Sharpening
HCS steel blades can be sharpened with a diamond file or a sharpening stone. Keep the original sharpening angle (usually 20-25 degrees). After sharpening, check how the blades align with each other - they should move evenly with no play.
