A 25-piece cobalt drill bit set for drilling into steels, non-ferrous metals and plastics. Made from cobalt high-speed steel (HSS-Co), the bits offer increased hardness and heat resistance during intensive work.
HSS-Co cobalt drill bit features
HSS-Co cobalt alloy
The cobalt content (5-8%) increases hardness and resistance to temperatures above 600°C. The bits keep their cutting edges sharp during prolonged drilling in difficult materials, which extends their service life compared with standard HSS steel.
Wide range of diameters
The 25 drill bits, with diameters from 1 mm to 13 mm, allow you to drill holes for metric bolts, rivets and pins as well as fixing holes without buying any additional tools. The gradation of diameters lets you match the bit precisely to the requirements of the job.
For hard-to-machine steels
The HSS-Co construction allows drilling into stainless steel, acid-resistant steel and high-strength alloys. The increased hardness of the material prevents rapid blunting when working with metals with a hardness above 200 HB.
Working and overall length
With a working length of 12 mm to 101 mm and an overall length of 34 mm to 151 mm, the bits can drill holes in materials of various thicknesses. Longer bits are useful for drilling into structural sections and deeper components.

Using and maintaining cobalt drill bits
Drilling parameters
When drilling hard steels, use lower speeds (300-800 rpm depending on the diameter) and a higher feed rate. With stainless steel you must use a cutting fluid or cutting oil, which prevents overheating and premature wear of the cutting edge.
Storage
The indexed case keeps the bits sorted by diameter and protects them from mechanical damage. Store the drill bits in a dry place and avoid contact with moisture, which can corrode the working surfaces.
Sharpening the drill bits
HSS-Co drill bits can be sharpened with a drill bit sharpener or a bench grinder. Keep the original point angle (118° for most applications) and the rake angle. Correct sharpening restores the cutting properties and extends the life of the tool.
