A twist drill bit made from cobalt-enriched high-speed steel, designed for drilling into metals of varying hardness. The 3.5 mm diameter enables precise hole drilling in structural steels, stainless steels and metal alloys.
The addition of cobalt (5-8%) increases the hardness and heat resistance of the high-speed steel. The drill bit keeps its cutting edges sharp even at temperatures above 600°C, allowing stainless and hardened steels to be drilled without any loss of cutting performance.
The twist drill geometry with a 118° point angle ensures centring and stability during drilling. Standard-pitch spiral flutes clear the swarf, minimising the risk of the tool jamming and overheating.
A versatile diameter used in assembly, installation and precision work. It matches the standard diameters of M4 screws and the typical mounting holes found in steel structures and machine components.
Cobalt increases the hardness of the working surface, which extends tool life under intensive use. The drill bit retains its dimensions and sharpness over a greater number of drilling cycles than standard HSS drill bits.

For structural steels, the recommended speed is 800-1200 rpm. For stainless steels: 400-600 rpm with a reduced feed rate. Using coolant (emulsion, cutting oil) extends drill bit life and improves hole quality. When drilling through, use a wooden backing piece to prevent chipping of the exit edge.
After use, clean the drill bit of swarf and coolant residue. Store it in a dry place, protected from mechanical impact. Blunting of the cutting edges can be recognised by increased drilling resistance and poorer hole quality. Sharpening restores the cutting properties — the original 118° point angle and edge symmetry must be maintained.
