Straight-shank drill bit with a diameter of 3.2 mm, made from HSS high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating. The product is designed for drilling in various grades of steel, including stainless and high-grade steel, and complies with the DIN 338 standard.
The TiN layer increases the surface hardness of the drill bit to 2,400 HV, which reduces wear when drilling hard steels. The coating lowers friction and the temperature in the cutting zone, extending tool life by 200-300% compared with uncoated HSS drill bits.
The self-centring point angle eliminates the need for centre punching before drilling. This design allows drilling to start directly on the surface of the material, cutting working time and increasing the precision of hole positioning.
The drill bit's high-speed steel core retains its hardness and strength at temperatures of up to 600°C. This material provides resistance to pressure and torsion, which is important when working with pillar drills and magnetic drills.
The drill bit meets the requirements of the DIN 338 standard, which specifies the geometry, dimensional tolerances and technical parameters of straight-shank drill bits. This ensures compatibility with drill chucks and consistent hole dimensions.

The drill bit's straight shank fits standard keyless and keyed drill chucks on hammer drills, non-impact drills, pillar drills and magnetic drills. Before starting work, check the chuck capacity of your drill – most models accept drill bits with a diameter of 1-13 mm.
HSS-TiN drill bits have a lower coefficient of friction than standard HSS drill bits, which allows dry drilling in most applications. When drilling stainless steel, the use of a cutting fluid is recommended for optimum results.
The drill speed must be matched to the hardness of the material. For structural steel with a diameter of 3.2 mm, the recommended speed is 2,000-2,500 rpm; for stainless steel, 1,200-1,800 rpm. Excessively high speeds shorten the life of the TiN coating.
After use, clean the drill bit of swarf with a brush or compressed air. Storing it in a dry place protects the coating from oxidation. Regularly checking the sharpness of the cutting edges allows wear to be detected early.
TiN-coated drill bits can be sharpened, but the process removes the titanium nitride layer from the sharpened surfaces. After sharpening, the drill bit retains the properties of HSS steel but loses the benefits of the coating in the ground areas. Sharpening should be carried out on a drill bit sharpener, maintaining the original angles.
