VDE insulated hex bit socket 6 mm 75 mm 3/8" YATO YT-21082

An insulated hex bit socket with a 3/8-inch drive, designed for work on electrical installations live up to 1000 V. The tool combines the function of a socket wrench with the safety required when working on low-voltage equipment.

VDE insulationup to 1000 V

Features of the insulated hex bit socket

VDE certification up to 1000 V

The multi-layer insulation on the handle meets VDE standards, protecting against electric shock at working voltages up to 1000 V AC or 1500 V DC. VDE certification confirms that dielectric tests have been carried out in line with European standards for insulated hand tools.

CrV chrome vanadium steel

The core is made from CrV tool steel and offers increased hardness and resistance to twisting. The chrome vanadium alloy ensures lasting working edges and resistance to wear under intensive workshop use.

3/8-inch drive

The standard 3/8" (9.5 mm) square drive accepts sockets from this range. This format strikes the right balance between compact 1/4" tools and heavy-duty 1/2" systems, delivering sufficient torque while remaining ergonomic.

6 mm hex bit, 75 mm long

The 6 mm hexagonal profile transfers torque reliably with no risk of slipping. The 75 mm working length provides access to fasteners in recesses and hard-to-reach assembly points.

Safety when working with VDE tools

VDE certification does not remove the need to follow health and safety procedures. Before every use, check the condition of the insulation – cracks, scuffs or mechanical damage mean the tool must not be used on live circuits. Insulation protects against electric shock, but it is not a substitute for isolating the supply wherever this is possible. VDE tools should be inspected at regular intervals and replaced in line with the manufacturer's instructions and the health and safety regulations in force at the workplace.

Use and maintenance

The VDE hex bit socket requires a regular check of its insulation before every use. Check that the dielectric coating shows no cracks, scuffs or discolouration that could indicate damage to the insulating structure. Store the tool in a dry place, away from heat sources and chemicals that could degrade the insulating material.

During use, insert the hex bit fully into the fastener to avoid damaging the working edges. Never use extensions or slip a pipe over the tool to increase leverage – this can exceed the mechanical strength of the tool and damage the insulation. After use, wipe the bit socket clean with a dry cloth, avoiding chemicals that are aggressive to plastics.
