12 mm insulated socket with VDE certification, designed for work on live electrical installations. Made from chrome vanadium steel with insulation rated up to 1000V AC.
Insulation compliant with the VDE standard protects against electric shock when working on equipment and installations live at up to 1000 volts AC. VDE certification confirms that the tool has passed electrical safety testing.
Chrome vanadium steel offers greater hardness and wear resistance than ordinary tool steel. The addition of vanadium improves mechanical strength, which translates into a longer tool life under intensive use.
The 12 mm hexagonal internal profile ensures full contact with nuts and bolts, minimising the risk of damaging the edges. The 12 mm size is a standard dimension in electrical and mechanical installations.
The 3/8" (9.5 mm) square drive is a popular standard in workshop tools. Compatible with ratchets, torque wrenches and extension bars with the same drive size.

Before buying, make sure that your socket wrench, ratchet or extension bar has a 3/8" drive. This size is marked as 3/8" or 9.5 mm. It will not fit a 1/4" (6.3 mm) or 1/2" (12.7 mm) drive without an adaptor.
Check the condition of the insulation before each use of the VDE insulated socket. Cracks, scuffs or damage to the insulating layer mean the tool must not be used on live equipment. The insulation must not be repaired or touched up by the user.
During use, avoid contact between the insulation and sharp edges, solvents or chemicals that may weaken its dielectric properties. Insulated sockets should be stored in a dry place, away from heat sources.
After use, clean the tool with a dry cloth. Insulated sockets must not be washed in a dishwasher or immersed in water. Regular visual checks of the insulation ensure safety during subsequent uses.
VDE certification confirms safety when working with voltages up to 1000V AC, but it does not mean the tool is resistant to electrical discharges with higher parameters. Do not use the socket at voltages above the rated value or in damp conditions.
