A six-point socket with certified VDE insulation, designed for work on electrical installations live at up to 1000 V. Made from CrV chrome vanadium steel and fitted with a 3/8-inch drive.
The socket complies with the VDE standard (Verband der Elektrotechnik), which means tested electrical insulation up to 1000 V AC or 1500 V DC. Certification guarantees safety when working on live electrical installations, protecting the user against electric shock.
CrV material is characterised by higher hardness and wear resistance than ordinary tool steel. The added chromium provides corrosion resistance, while vanadium increases mechanical strength, which translates into a longer tool service life under intensive use.
A standard drive size used in professional socket sets. The 3/8" drive is a compromise between compact 1/4" sockets and heavy-duty 1/2" ones, offering sufficient torque for M8-M19 bolts while maintaining ergonomic handling.
The 22 mm size corresponds to M14 bolts and nuts. The 6-point profile distributes force evenly across all edges of the fastener, minimising the risk of rounding off the corners at high tightening torques.

A VDE certificate does not exempt you from the obligation to follow health and safety procedures. Before starting work, check the condition of the tool's insulation (no cracks or mechanical damage). VDE tools should be stored in a dry place, away from chemicals that could damage the insulating layer. Check the condition of the insulation regularly in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines.
The socket works with standard equipment featuring a 3/8-inch drive:
For M14 bolts (matching the 22 mm socket), the recommended tightening torques are: strength class 8.8 - approximately 190-220 Nm, class 10.9 - approximately 280-310 Nm. The 3/8" drive handles torques of up to approximately 200 Nm, which is sufficient for most electrical applications. For higher torques, the use of 1/2" sockets is recommended.
