KD696 Portable Generator – single-phase 6.5/7 kW, 230V
The KD696 is a single-phase portable generator with a 4-stroke OHV engine in an open frame design, intended for powering electrical equipment in locations without access to the mains. It delivers a rated output of 6.5 kW and a maximum output of 7 kW, which allows it to run power tools, workshop equipment and household appliances at the same time.
Technical features
4-stroke OHV engine with chrome-plated piston
An overhead valve (OHV) engine offers better cooling and higher combustion efficiency than side-valve engines. The chrome-plated piston reduces friction against the cylinder walls, which results in lower noise levels during operation and a longer service life for the engine.
Open frame design
The open steel frame allows air to flow freely around the engine and alternator, which aids cooling during prolonged operation. Compared with enclosed housings, this design reduces the weight of the machine and makes components easier to access during maintenance.
Dual starting and 12V output
The generator is fitted with both manual (recoil) and electric starting, which makes it easier to start, particularly in low temperatures. The 12V output allows car batteries to be charged or 12V devices to be powered without the need for a separate charger.
Low oil level sensor and voltmeter
The oil sensor automatically shuts the engine down if the oil level drops below the safe minimum, protecting it from seizure. The built-in voltmeter allows the output voltage to be monitored continuously without the need for external meters.

Noise level information

Use and maintenance
Before the first start-up, check the engine oil level and top it up with CD grade or SAE 10W-30 / 15W-40 oil in accordance with the manual. The generator requires regular oil changes – after the first 20 hours of operation and then every 50–100 hours of use. The 25 L fuel tank provides several hours of operation without refuelling – the actual running time depends on the load and is typically between 6 and 10 hours.
The generator should only be used outdoors or in well-ventilated areas – exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, which is invisible and odourless. The transport wheels make it easier to move the 93 kg machine. The rubber feet and engine mounts reduce the transfer of vibration to the ground, which matters when the generator is set up on unstable or uneven terrain.
