Hexagonal Allen key in a 6.0 mm size with a long arm, made from chrome vanadium steel. The tool is designed for fitting and removing socket head screws in workshops and service centres, and during assembly work.
A material characterised by increased hardness (approximately 58-62 HRC) and resistance to wear. The chrome vanadium alloy provides resistance to deformation under high torsional loads, which extends the service life of the tool during intensive use in workshop conditions.
The long-arm design increases torque for the same applied effort and provides access to screws recessed in cavities or located in hard-to-reach places. Particularly useful when working on precision mechanical components and when assembling modular furniture.
One of the most common sizes for socket head screws, used in automotive mechanics (brake calipers, suspension components), furniture making (hinges, furniture connectors) and in electronic equipment and household appliances. The dimensional tolerance ensures a precise fit without play.
The hex profile distributes stress evenly across six working faces, minimising the risk of damaging the screw socket. The design eliminates slipping of the tool when tightening with high force, which is important for joints requiring a specified tightening torque.

Before starting work, make sure that the key size matches the dimensions of the screw socket. A 6.0 mm key should enter the socket without play or resistance. Excessive play can damage the edges of the socket, while too tight a fit can jam the tool. For metric screws, the size marking is given in the technical documentation or on the packaging of the fasteners.
Chrome vanadium steel Allen keys require basic maintenance to preserve their working parameters. After use in a damp environment or contact with corrosive substances, clean the tool and protect it with a thin layer of oil. Do not use keys as levers or hammers – this can deform the working tip.
When working with screws that have a specified tightening torque, it is advisable to use a torque wrench with a hex bit socket rather than tightening directly with the key. The long arm increases the leverage, which makes it easy to exceed the recommended torque and damage the threads.
Keys should be stored in a dry place, preferably in sets with size markings or in tool organisers. This prevents mistakes when selecting the correct size and protects against losing individual items. In a workshop environment, magnetic tool boards or modular cassettes are recommended.
