A set of masonry core drills designed for cutting round holes for back boxes and electrical sockets in building materials. The tools are compatible with SDS Plus chucks and can be used in impact drills and rotary hammers.
The teeth of the core drills are made from tungsten carbide (HM — Hartmetall), which is considerably harder than high-speed steel. This translates into wear resistance when working in hard building materials such as concrete or engineering brick.
The SDS Plus shank (Special Direct System) allows quick tool changes without a key. This format is standard on professional-grade impact drills and rotary hammers — before buying, check that your drill accepts this type of shank.
The available diameters (40, 65, 80, 100 and 125 mm) cover the most commonly used back box sizes: 60 mm (standard flush-mounting box) together with the larger formats used in distribution boards and junction boxes. Choosing the right diameter depends on the requirements of the specific installation.
The set includes a 110 mm pilot drill. Its purpose is to centre the core drill when starting to drill, which prevents the tool from slipping across the surface of the material and allows the hole to be positioned accurately.

Before using the set, make sure that your drill or rotary hammer is fitted with an SDS Plus chuck. Tools with this shank are not compatible with SDS Max chucks or three-jaw chucks (without an adapter). Drilling in concrete and brick should be carried out with hammer mode engaged.
