Product Features

Aluminium Oxide Abrasive Grain

Aluminium oxide (corundum) is an abrasive material used for working unalloyed and alloy steels. It delivers consistent cutting and a relatively long disc life under regular use compared with silicon carbide grain, which is intended for non-ferrous materials.

Fibreglass Reinforcement

A fibreglass mesh embedded in the resin bond increases the disc's resistance to centrifugal bursting during use. This is a key design element from a safety perspective — discs without reinforcement are more prone to fragmenting under overload or side contact.

Resin Bond

Synthetic resin binds the abrasive grain and the fibreglass reinforcement into a uniform structure. It is resistant to the heat generated during cutting, which reduces the risk of bond breakdown under heavy use and limits excessive heating of the workpiece.

2.5 mm Thickness — Minimal Material Loss

Discs of 2.5 mm thickness are classified as cutting discs (not grinding discs). This thickness produces a relatively narrow kerf, which limits material loss. Thinner discs (1–1.6 mm) offer less resistance but are more prone to lateral deflection and breakage.

How to read the marking T41-A30 P.4.B F

T41 — flat cutting disc type; A — abrasive material: aluminium oxide (corundum); 30 — grain size (medium grain, general-purpose for metal); P — bond hardness (hard); 4 — grain structure; B — bond type: synthetic resin (Bakelite); F — fibreglass reinforcement.

Applications

  • Cutting steel bars and flat bar
  • Cutting steel pipes and box sections
  • Cutting angle iron and channel sections
  • Cutting steel sheet of moderate thickness
  • Metalwork and assembly jobs in workshops
  • Cutting steelwork components on site
  • Servicing and repair work on metal installations
  • Volume production requiring regular disc changes

Compatibility and Fitting

This disc is intended for angle grinders (commonly known as "grinders") with a 230 mm working diameter. The 22.23 mm bore is the standard size used by most angle grinder manufacturers in this class (including Bosch, Makita, DeWalt, Metabo and Milwaukee). Before fitting, check that the maximum spindle speed of the tool does not exceed the 6500 rpm stated on the disc — operating above this value is not permitted for safety reasons.

Minimum Order Quantity

This product is available only in bulk packs of 25. It is intended for workshops, construction firms, manufacturing plants and abrasives distributors where disc consumption is regular and predictable.

Use and Safety

Cutting discs (T41) must not be used for grinding with the side face — cup wheels or flap discs are intended for that purpose. Side contact with the material can cause the disc to break. When working, the guard fitted to the grinder, safety goggles or a face shield, gloves and hearing protection must be used. Discs should be stored in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and chemicals that may degrade the resin bond. Before each use, the disc should be visually checked for cracks and damage.
