Vorel 04450 Mortar Gun
Manual mortar gun for applying mortars, fillers and grout. The tool has a 60 mm PVC barrel and is fitted with a steel piston rod and a double rubber piston with a felt seal.
Technical features of the mortar gun
PVC barrel construction
The barrel is made from polyvinyl chloride, which provides chemical resistance on contact with cement mortars and fillers. The material is also abrasion resistant and easy to clean after use.
20 mm steel piston rod
The 20 mm rod diameter gives the tool rigidity when the material is being pushed through. The steel construction prevents flexing when thick mixes are applied, which ensures an even flow of material from the nozzle.
Double rubber piston with seal
The double layer of rubber with an additional felt seal prevents the material from flowing back and leaking from the rear of the barrel. This system increases pumping efficiency and reduces material waste.
80 x 20 mm outlet nozzle
The rectangular 80 x 20 mm outlet allows wide beads of material to be applied. The nozzle format works well for filling deep joints and applying material over larger areas.

Use and maintenance
Preparing for use
Before filling the barrel, check that the inside is clean and that the piston seal is in good condition. The material should have a consistency that allows it to flow freely through the nozzle – mixes that are too thick need to be diluted in line with the manufacturer's instructions.
Application technique
Pushing the piston rod evenly produces a continuous flow of material without gaps or air bubbles. When grouting, hold the tool at an angle of about 45 degrees to the surface, which makes it easier to force the material deep into the joint.
Cleaning after use
The barrel must be cleaned immediately after use, before the material sets. Wash the rubber piston and felt seal with water, and use a suitable solvent for fast-setting mortars. Regular cleaning extends the life of the seal.
