Vibratory plate compactor powered by a 6.5 HP Loncin OHV petrol engine, designed for compacting soil and unbound sub-base. The machine works by vibrating a 610 × 460 mm base plate, achieving a compaction depth of up to 30 cm.
The parameter that determines compaction efficiency. A value of 19.8 kN allows effective work in sandy, gravelly and mixed soils. A higher centrifugal force means better compaction of sub-base layers and a greater depth of influence.
Single-cylinder, 4-stroke 196 cc petrol engine with overhead valves (OHV). The design ensures stable running under load and lower fuel consumption compared with side-valve engines. A shaft diameter of 19 mm allows standard accessories to be fitted.
The 610 × 460 mm working surface strikes a balance between output and manoeuvrability. This size works well on medium-sized areas, on trench work and in locations with limited access.
A working speed of 29 metres per minute allows productive work while keeping the machine under control. Combined with a frequency of 6,500 vibrations per minute, it delivers optimum compaction alongside steady progress.

A noise level of 108 dB(A) exceeds the permissible limits for working without hearing protection (85 dB). Hearing protection must be worn by the operator and by anyone in the immediate vicinity of the machine.
Before starting work, check the engine oil and the fuel level. 4-stroke engines require regular oil changes in line with the manufacturer's recommendations – typically after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 25-50 operating hours.
Compaction efficiency depends on the type of soil. The machine gives the best results in sandy and gravelly soils. With cohesive soils (clay, silt), effectiveness may be limited – in that case, repeated passes over the same area are required, or a compactor with a higher centrifugal force.
The maximum compaction depth of 30 cm refers to optimum ground conditions. In practice, compacting in layers 10-15 cm thick is recommended, which ensures even compaction throughout the depth. Thicker layers may be compacted at the surface only, leaving loose material at greater depths.
After finishing work, clean the base plate of any remaining soil and check the condition of the vibration unit mountings. Regular maintenance also includes checking the air filter, the spark plug and the drive belt tension (where fitted).
