A tool that combines the functions of a calibrator and a deburring tool, designed for preparing 16 mm PEX pipes before fittings are assembled. It restores the round cross-section of the pipe after cutting and removes internal and external burrs, ensuring leak-free joints in plumbing systems.
Restores a perfectly round cross-section to the pipe after cutting. When PEX pipes are cut they are often deformed – flattened or made oval. Calibration ensures a correct fit with the fittings, which eliminates leaks and makes assembly easier.
Removes the burrs created when the pipe is cut, both internally and on the outer edges. Burrs can damage the seals in fittings and cause leaks. Deburring produces smooth surfaces, which extends the service life of the joints.
Designed for PEX-AL-PEX and PERT-AL-PERT pipes with a diameter of 16 mm. Multilayer pipes consist of a polymer layer and an aluminium layer, which requires a special tool capable of working both materials at once.
Made from materials resistant to intensive use in workshop conditions. The ergonomic shape makes it easier to guide the tool precisely during calibration and deburring, which matters for repetitive tasks on larger installations.

Once a PEX pipe has been cut, its cross-section is deformed and sharp burrs form on the edges. Attempting to fit a fitting onto an uncalibrated pipe leads to uneven pressure on the seal, which causes leaks. Burrs can damage O-rings or prevent the pipe from seating correctly in a press fitting. Calibration and deburring are essential steps before every joint.
Before use, cut the pipe perpendicular to its axis with purpose-made PEX pipe cutters. Then insert the end of the pipe into the calibrator opening and turn it several times until the pipe regains its round cross-section. The deburring tool built into the device automatically removes burrs during this operation.
Checking the quality of the calibration involves trying to slide a fitting on – it should go on evenly without excessive resistance. A lack of resistance may indicate insufficient calibration, while excessive resistance points to remaining burrs or an incorrect cutting angle.
PEX-AL-PEX pipes contain an aluminium layer between layers of polyethylene, which provides dimensional stability and a diffusion barrier. PERT-AL-PERT pipes use heat-resistant polyethylene instead of PEX. Both types require identical preparation before assembly, which is why the YT-22375 calibrator handles both constructions.
