A Phillips screwdriver for screws with a Phillips recess, fitted with a 150 mm PH2 blade. The tool is made from chrome vanadium steel with a magnetised tip finished in black chrome and an ergonomic two-component handle.
The PH2 designation defines the size of the Phillips cross-head tip. It is the most common size, suitable for screws of 3-5 mm diameter used in most assembly, furniture and electronic work. The 150 mm length provides access to recessed fixing points.
The chromium and vanadium alloy is characterised by increased hardness (45-50 HRC) and resistance to twisting. This material prevents blade deformation when working with tightly driven screws, which extends the life of the tool.
The magnet in the blade holds the screw during driving, which makes work easier in hard-to-reach places and when fixing overhead. The black chrome coating increases resistance to corrosion and wear compared with standard chrome plating.
The combination of hard plastic and rubber elastomer ensures a secure grip even with damp hands. The design reduces hand fatigue during prolonged work. The hanging hole allows the tool to be stored on a pegboard.

The Phillips system is designated by numbers from PH0 to PH4. PH2 is the standard size for 3-5 mm screws (the most commonly encountered). A tip that is too small (e.g. PH1) will slip and damage the screw head. One that is too large (e.g. PH3) will not seat correctly in the recess. Check that the tip fills the entire screw recess without any play.
Before starting work, make sure the tip matches the size of the screw — play causes wear to both the tip and the recess in the screw. When driving, apply constant pressure along the axis — this prevents the tip from slipping. The magnetised tip may lose its properties over time — it can be restored by stroking it with a neodymium magnet.
After finishing work, clean any contamination from the tip. If you have been working in damp conditions, dry the tool and, optionally, protect the tip with a thin layer of maintenance oil. Store the screwdriver in a dry place, ideally hung by its hanging hole — this protects the tip from damage.
