A complete set of piston rings intended for the reconditioning of 6.5 horsepower petrol engines. The set restores correct combustion chamber sealing and cylinder compression.
The rings seal the gap between the piston and the cylinder, preventing combustion gases from entering the crankcase and oil from migrating into the combustion chamber. Loss of sealing shows up as reduced power and increased oil consumption.
Correctly fitted rings restore cylinder compression, which directly translates into restored engine operating parameters. A drop in compression causes starting difficulties and unstable running.
Piston rings transfer around 70% of the heat from the piston to the cylinder walls. Worn rings lead to piston overheating and can cause piston damage.
The set is dedicated to standard 6.5HP single-cylinder engines with a cylinder bore of approximately 68-69mm. Before purchase, check the engine model designation on the housing.
| Model | CG80250-C |
| Manufacturer | GEKO |
| Intended use | 6.5 HP petrol engine |
| Engine type | Single-cylinder four-stroke |
| Set contents | Complete set of piston rings (compression and oil scraper) |
| Application | Reconditioning, replacement of worn rings |
Replacement is necessary when you notice: increased oil consumption (blue smoke from the exhaust), reduced engine power, starting difficulties, unstable idling, or increased fuel consumption. Wear can be confirmed by a compression test – a reading below 7-8 bar indicates that replacement is required.
Replacing the rings requires removing the cylinder head and taking the piston out of the cylinder. Before fitting the new rings, check the piston ring end gap (usually 0.2-0.4mm) and the condition of the cylinder bore surface. Scratches or cylinder ovality greater than 0.05mm require the cylinder to be rebored or replaced.
