Polishing Pad Hook-and-Loop 130x150x25mm Medium YT-47893 Yato

A medium-hardness polishing pad with a hook-and-loop attachment system, designed for polishing and finishing automotive paintwork. The 130x150x25mm dimensions provide a suitable working surface while maintaining control over the polishing process.

Max. speed3000 rpm

Features of the medium polishing pad

Medium foam hardness

A versatile hardness that sits between soft and hard foam. It allows both the removal of light scratches and the glossing of the surface. Suitable for use with medium-abrasive polishing compounds and for finishing paintwork after correction with a hard pad.

Hook-and-loop attachment system

The hook-and-loop (Velcro) backing allows pads to be changed quickly during work without tools. It provides a stable connection to the machine's backing plate and an even transmission of the rotational motion. Compatible with standard rotary and dual-action polishers with a hook-and-loop backing plate.

130x150x25mm dimensions

The 130mm diameter matches standard polisher backing plates, while the 25mm height provides suitable flexibility and heat absorption. The 150mm working surface enables efficient work on larger flat areas while retaining precision in more difficult spots.

Maximum speed 3000 rpm

This parameter defines the safe speed range of the polisher. Exceeding this value may cause the pad to overheat, deform or detach from the backing plate. For most polishing work, speeds of 1500-2500 rpm are recommended.

Applications of the medium polishing pad

  • Polishing automotive paintwork with medium-abrasive compounds
  • Removing light scratches, holograms and dullness from paintwork
  • Finishing surfaces after correction with a hard pad
  • Glossing paintwork before applying wax or sealant
  • Polishing polycarbonate car headlights
  • Paint correction on panels with complex shapes
  • Working with one-step compounds for rapid correction
  • Preparing surfaces for ceramic coatings

Use and maintenance

Preparation before use

Before first use, lightly dampen the pad with water and squeeze out the excess. Check the attachment to the backing plate – the pad should sit evenly across its whole surface. Apply the polishing compound directly to the pad or the paintwork, and spread it at low speed before starting the actual polishing.

Cleaning after use

After finishing work, rinse the pad in warm water, removing any compound residue. A mild cleaning agent or a dedicated polishing pad cleaner can be used. Squeeze out the excess water without wringing the pad, then leave it to dry in a well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.

Checking the pad's condition

Regularly inspect the pad's surface for damage, tears or hardening of the material. Replace the pad when it loses its flexibility, deforms during use or compound residue can no longer be removed from it. A damaged pad may scratch the paintwork or leave streaks.
