Profile Crimping Pliers 260mm GEKO G00851

A tool designed for mechanically joining steel profiles and sheet metal by crimping. Used when installing frames for plasterboard as well as in sheet metal and roofing work.

Length260 mm
MaterialSteel 65Mn
Max. sheet thickness0.8 mm
ModelG00851

Technical characteristics

65Mn Steel

A material characterised by an increased manganese (Mn) content, which provides higher hardness and wear resistance compared with standard carbon steels. Used in tools that require durability under repeated loading.

260 mm working length

A dimension that provides adequate leverage when crimping profiles. It allows work in typical construction conditions without excessive effort while maintaining joining precision.

Two-component handle

A design that combines a hard core with a soft non-slip coating. It reduces hand fatigue during repeated clamping and prevents the tool from slipping.

Sheet thickness up to 0.8 mm

A parameter defining the maximum thickness of material that can be effectively joined. It covers the typical profiles used in dry lining (CD, CW, UD, UW) as well as thin roofing sheets.

Applications

  • Joining CD 60/27 steel profiles used as load-bearing members in suspended ceilings
  • Assembling wall frames from CW and UW profiles for plasterboard
  • Joining UD 28/27 profiles used as tracks in dry lining systems
  • Sheet metal work when joining gutter components and flashings
  • Installing steel sections in ventilation systems
  • Joining galvanised sheet metal in roofing work
  • Joining components of housings and guards made of thin steel sheet
  • Installing support structures for façade cladding

How to check compatibility

Before starting work, check the thickness of the profiles to be joined. Standard profiles for plasterboard (CD, CW, UD, UW) are 0.5-0.6 mm thick and fall within the tool's working range. For reinforced profiles or sheets thicker than 0.8 mm, use pliers with a higher clamping force or use screw fixings.

Use and maintenance

Before first use, check the condition of the jaws and that they close evenly. During work, the pliers should be held perpendicular to the parts being joined, which ensures even distribution of the clamping force. After finishing work, clean the jaws of any material residue and protect the mechanism against corrosion by lightly oiling the moving points.

With intensive use, it is worth periodically checking the sharpness of the crimping edges. Worn or damaged jaws can result in an incomplete join between profiles, which reduces the strength of the structure. Do not use the tool to join materials thicker than the manufacturer's specifications, as this may lead to permanent deformation of the jaws.
