A tool designed for the mechanical joining of metal profiles in plasterboard systems. It creates crimped connections without screws, rivets or welding, which speeds up the installation of framing for plasterboard.
The dimensions of the tool provide sufficient leverage to generate the clamping force needed for a durable joint between profiles. The 320 mm length is a compromise between pressing force and tool weight, which means less fatigue during many hours of work.
This parameter defines the range of compatibility with metal profiles. The 3 mm value covers the standard UD, CD, CW and UW profiles used in drylining. Before buying, check the steel thickness of the profiles you use – it is typically 0.5-0.6 mm, which allows double-layer profiles to be joined.
65Mn spring steel contains 0.62-0.70% carbon and 0.90-1.20% manganese, which provides high hardness and resistance to plastic deformation. The powder coating protects against corrosion in a construction environment. This material maintains the jaw geometry even after repeated use.
A carbon steel core transfers the clamping forces, while the two-component coating of polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic rubber (TPR) provides a non-slip grip. The TPR layer absorbs vibration and reduces the load on the hand during work, which matters when installing larger frameworks.

The profile crimping tool works on the principle of mechanical crimping. The jaws have specially shaped lugs which, when the arms are squeezed, are pressed into the material, creating a durable joint through plastic deformation of the sheet metal.
Place the profiles on top of each other at the joint, then position the tool perpendicular to the surface and squeeze the arms with a full stroke. A single joint requires 1-2 crimps depending on material thickness. As standard, 2-3 crimp points are made along the length of the joint.
The tool works with profiles with a total steel thickness of up to 3 mm. Typical construction profiles (0.5-0.6 mm) can be joined in a double-layer configuration. Before starting work, check that the profile geometry allows the jaws to reach the joint.
After finishing work, clean the tool of plaster dust and any other contamination. It is worth protecting the working part periodically with a thin layer of oil, particularly when storing in damp rooms. The pivot mechanism requires checking for play – excessive play indicates wear and the need to replace the tool.
Store the tool in a dry place, avoiding direct contact with construction chemicals. Do not use the tool as a lever or a hammer – such use leads to deformation of the jaws and loss of functionality.
