A woodworking clamp with a ratchet clamping mechanism and spreading function. Made from forged steel, designed for holding workpieces during woodworking, welding and assembly work.
Forging increases the strength of the material compared with casting, eliminating micro-cracks and providing greater resistance to deformation under heavy load. The forging process compacts the metal structure, which translates into long-term tool performance without any loss of clamping parameters.
The ratchet system allows gradual clamping with precise control of the clamping force. The mechanism locks automatically in the selected position, maintaining constant pressure without the need to hold the handle continuously. The release trigger allows the clamp to be released quickly.
The profiled bar prevents the clamp from twisting during clamping, which is crucial when working with large-surface workpieces. The profile increases the rigidity of the construction and distributes forces evenly, eliminating point stresses that could damage the material.
Reversing the direction of the clamp allows structural components to be spread apart. This function is useful when assembling frames, separating glued joints or aligning components that require controlled spacing.

A jaw capacity of 250 mm means the maximum width of the workpiece you can hold. A throat depth of 100 mm determines how far from the edge you can clamp the material. When choosing a clamp, take into account both the dimensions of the workpiece and the distance of the clamping point from the edge, especially when working with large panels and frames.
Before first use, check that the sliding jaw moves smoothly and that the ratchet mechanism works correctly. The bar should be cleaned of dirt periodically and protected with a thin film of machine oil to prevent corrosion and ensure smooth operation.
When clamping, position the jaws perpendicular to the surface of the material to avoid uneven distribution of forces. When working with soft wood, protective pads are recommended to prevent the jaws from marking the surface.
The ratchet mechanism requires periodic checks for cleanliness — accumulated dust and swarf can hinder locking. After finishing work, release the clamping force and open the jaws slightly to relieve the mechanism spring.
