P240 Grit – Finishing Sanding
P240 grit corresponds to an average grain size of approximately 58 micrometres. Used for smoothing surfaces before painting or final finishing – it removes minor imperfections without leaving deep scratches.

Checking Compatibility

Use and Maintenance
Fitting the Disc
Before fitting the disc, switch off the sander and disconnect it from the mains. Clean any residue from the previous disc off the backing pad. Press the disc evenly onto the pad, starting from the centre and working out to the edges – this ensures the hook and loop backing makes full contact.
During Use
Sanding should be carried out with the dust extraction system switched on – this improves efficiency and extends the life of the disc. Do not apply excessive pressure – the weight of the sander itself is usually enough. Too much pressure causes the abrasive to wear more quickly and the surface to overheat.
Changing the Disc
Replace the disc when the grit stops sanding effectively or when uneven wear becomes noticeable. Holes clogged with dust indicate that the disc needs changing or the extraction system needs cleaning. Remove a used disc by peeling it off the hook and loop backing – do not use sharp tools.
