P40 grit – coarse sanding
A P40 grit means an abrasive grain size of approximately 425 micrometres. It is used for removing thick layers of material and stripping old paint, lacquer or filler. It leaves visible scratches, so further sanding with finer grits is required.
Roll format 115 mm x 5 m
The 115 mm width matches standard belt sanders and allows sheets of any length to be cut by hand. A 5-metre roll lets you prepare many working sheets without having to replenish the material frequently.
Versatile applications

How to choose the right sandpaper grit
P40 grit is the start of the sanding process – it is used for material removal and levelling. After working with P40 paper, you should move through the successive grits (P60, P80, P120) to gradually smooth the surface. The higher the grit number, the finer the grains and the smoother the final surface.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, cut a sheet of the appropriate length with a sharp knife or scissors. When sanding by hand, it is worth using a sanding block, which provides even pressure and protects your hands. With power sanders, check that the belt width is compatible with the tool.
P40 sandpaper wears quickly under intensive use – the grains blunt and the gaps between them fill with dust. Signs of wear include reduced sanding efficiency and overheating of the material. Sheets should be replaced regularly to maintain working efficiency.
Storing the roll in a dry place prevents the paper backing from absorbing moisture, which could cause it to delaminate during use. Protect it from direct contact with water and moisture.
