A sash clamp for precise clamping and securing of workpieces during gluing, assembly and machining. The design, based on a galvanised steel rail with a cast iron jaw, ensures stability and consistent clamping force.
Technical features
Galvanised steel rail
A corrosion-resistant galvanised steel section. Galvanising increases the tool's durability in workshop conditions, where moisture and contact with adhesives can accelerate corrosion. The rail guides the sliding jaw and transfers the clamping force along its full length.
Cast iron jaw
The cast iron jaw is rigid and resistant to deformation under load. This material does not flex during clamping, which ensures an even distribution of force across the entire clamping surface.
Swivel pressure plate
The pressure plate on the jaw adapts to the unevenness of the material being clamped. The swivel mechanism compensates for slight differences in thickness or non-parallel surfaces, which improves the effectiveness of clamping irregular workpieces.
Protective pads
Plastic pads on the jaws protect the workpiece surface from scratches and dents. The pad material does not leave marks on painted, veneered or bare wooden surfaces.

Use and maintenance
Selecting the clamping force
The clamping force should be matched to the type of material. Softwood requires less force than hardwood. Excessive clamping can deform the material or squeeze glue out of the joint. When gluing, it is advisable to leave the clamp in the clamped position until the glue has fully cured.
Cleaning after use
After finishing work, remove any adhesive residue from the rail and jaws. Polyurethane and PVA adhesives can be removed mechanically once hardened, or washed off with water while still fresh. Steel rails can be protected periodically with a thin layer of machine oil, which makes the jaw slide more easily and protects against corrosion.
Checking jaw parallelism
Before use, it is worth checking the parallelism of the jaws by lightly tightening the clamp without any material in it. The jaws should meet evenly across their entire surface. A lack of parallelism may result from wear in the mechanism or contamination on the rail. Regular checks ensure precise clamping.
