PH2 Size - Versatile Use
PH2 is the most commonly used Phillips screw size for assembly, carpentry and finishing work. The bits fit standard 3-5 mm screws used in furniture, electrical fittings and timber structures.

Recognising a Worn Bit
A bit needs replacing when the tip is visibly blunt, rounded or damaged. Wear also shows as the bit slipping out of the screw during tightening or a "spiky" torque feel. Using a worn bit damages screw heads and increases the risk of injury.
Use and Maintenance
Before starting work, check that the bit size matches the screw - a bit that is too small will damage the head, while one that is too large will not transfer torque correctly. The bit should sit fully in the screw head with no play.
When driving screws, keep the bit perpendicular to the screw surface and apply constant axial pressure. Without pressure the bit slips, damaging both the bit and the screw head. For screws that are difficult to remove, use a penetrating oil and increase the pressure applied.
After work, clean the bits of dust, swarf and any dirt. Storing them in a dry place prevents corrosion. The bits do not need lubricating - excess grease attracts contaminants and can cause slipping in the drill chuck.
