Spiral-flute drill bit with a 40 mm diameter, designed for drilling into concrete, granite, masonry and other stone materials. Fitted with an SDS Max shank compatible with professional rotary hammers and hammer drills.
A fitting system used on high-power professional tools. The 18 mm shank diameter ensures a secure hold and efficient transfer of impact energy. Suitable for hammers in the 5 kg and above class.
The twin spiral flute design speeds up the removal of debris from the drilled hole. It shortens drilling time and reduces the risk of the bit seizing, particularly in deep holes.
A tungsten carbide (widia) insert on the cutting head of the bit is responsible for the actual drilling action. The material has a hardness of HRA 89-91, which provides resistance to abrasion when working in reinforced concrete and granite.
A size typically used for electrical cable installations, DN32-40 ventilation ducts and M30-M36 chemical anchors. It allows holes to be drilled for mounting sleeves and service penetrations.

The bit requires a rotary hammer or hammer drill with an SDS Max shank. This system is used on professional-grade tools rated at a minimum of 1200-1500 W with an impact energy above 8 J. Check your tool's manual to confirm that it accepts 40 mm diameter bits of 600 mm length.
Before you start drilling, make sure that no electrical cables or service pipes run through the planned hole location. Use a cable and metal detector. Drill with the hammer action engaged and apply moderate pressure – excessive force can damage the carbide tip or cause the bit to overheat.
When drilling deep holes, withdraw the bit at regular intervals and clear the accumulated dust from the flutes. This prevents seizing and overheating. Once the work is finished, clean concrete residue and dust off the bit and grease the SDS Max shank with maintenance grease – this extends the service life of both the bit and the chuck in the hammer.
The bit should be replaced when you notice clear blunting of the carbide tip (drilling time increasing by more than 50%), cracks in the cutting edge or significant wear to the flutes that hampers debris removal.
