An adapter that allows a standard drill chuck to be fitted to power tools with an SDS Plus chuck. It lets you use straight-shank drill bits in rotary hammers and hammer drills.
The adapter fits all power tools with an SDS Plus chuck — the most common standard on rotary hammers up to 5 kg. It is fitted by pushing in and twisting, with no additional tools required.
The mounting shank is made to the UNF (Unified National Fine) standard with a pitch of 20 threads per inch. This thread type provides a precise fit with 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) drill chucks.
Once a drill chuck is fitted to the adapter, standard straight-shank drill bits can be used, which greatly increases the versatility of the rotary hammer.
Hardened steel construction provides resistance to mechanical loads and repeated fitting. The adapter transfers torque from the spindle to the drill chuck.

| Application | Fitting a drill chuck to SDS Plus tools |
Before buying, make sure your drill chuck has a 1/2-20UNF female thread. This standard is common on chucks with a 1.5-13 mm range. The power tool must have an SDS Plus chuck (4 slots, 10 mm shank diameter).
Before fitting, clean any dust and dirt from the SDS Plus chuck. The adapter is pushed into the chuck until it clicks into place, after which the drill chuck can be screwed onto the 1/2-20UNF thread. When working with the adapter, the hammer action should be switched off so that the drill chuck is not exposed to mechanical damage.
When work is finished, the adapter can be left in place or removed by pulling the locking collar on the SDS Plus chuck. The threaded shank should be greased periodically with machine grease to prevent the joint from seizing.
