The KD904 is a mallet with replaceable plastic faces of differing hardness, intended for work that requires controlled striking force without damaging the surface being worked. The impregnated wooden handle provides a secure grip and resistance to changing conditions of use.
The faces are screwed onto the threaded head of the mallet, so they can be replaced as required. They are available in two degrees of hardness, allowing the striking force and characteristics to be matched to a particular material or task.
The shaft is made of wood coated with an impregnating layer that resists moisture and temperature changes. The wooden core provides rigidity and dampens vibration during work, reducing hand fatigue during prolonged use.
The soft plastic faces leave no marks on the materials being worked — wood, tiles, panels, upholstered or metal components. Compared with a steel hammer, their use avoids dents and scratches.
A length of 28.5 cm and a face diameter of 35 mm make these dimensions suitable for precision work and confined spaces. The tool performs well both in the workshop and during on-site assembly work.

The soft-face mallet is used wherever a strike must not leave marks on the material being worked, or where a controlled, soft striking force is required:
The harder face transfers more striking energy — it is suitable for seating metal components and dowels. The softer face is used on materials prone to damage: wood, tiles and plastics. Because the faces can be replaced via the thread, a single handle can be used for a range of tasks.
Before use, check that the faces are firmly tightened on the thread in the head — if they are loose, they may slip off during work. The impregnated handle requires no additional protection, but after use in very damp conditions it is worth drying it and storing it in a dry place. If the faces become worn or damaged, they can be replaced without replacing the whole tool.
