Technical features
Solid PU construction
The solid polyurethane filling eliminates the risk of punctures and the need for inflation. Polyurethane is more abrasion-resistant than rubber while retaining the flexibility needed to damp vibrations when travelling over uneven surfaces.
Ball bearings
Ball bearings ensure smooth rotation of the wheel with minimal rolling resistance. The bearing design reduces friction, which means less effort is required when manoeuvring a loaded trolley.
Powder-coated steel rim
A durable steel rim with a powder coating protects against corrosion and mechanical damage. The metal construction keeps the wheel geometry stable under loads of up to 135 kg.
Standard mounting bore
A 16 mm axle bore is a standard size used on trolleys. Before fitting, check the axle diameter on your equipment and the fixing method (through bolt, split pin or clip).

How to check compatibility
Before buying, measure the axle bore diameter in the trolley hub (it should be 16 mm) and the width of the fork in which the wheel is mounted (a minimum clearance of 81 mm). Make sure the 260 mm outer diameter does not clash with the trolley frame. Also check the type of axle fixing – whether it requires a through bolt, a split pin or another type of retainer.
Advantages of solid PU construction
Solid polyurethane wheels are an alternative to traditional pneumatic wheels with inner tubes. The main difference is that air pressure does not need to be maintained – the solid construction eliminates the risk of punctures and gradual pressure loss. Polyurethane retains its shock-absorbing properties, although to a lesser extent than a pneumatic wheel at optimum pressure.
PU is more resistant to chemicals, oils and solvents than rubber. It does not degrade under the influence of ozone and UV radiation as quickly as natural rubber. The hardness of polyurethane provides a higher load capacity for the same volume of material.
Maintenance and use
Solid PU wheels do not require regular pressure-related maintenance. Periodic checks of the bearings are recommended – play in the bearings shows up as sideways movement of the wheel on the axle. Check the condition of the polyurethane surface for deep cuts or chips, which can lead to further delamination of the material.
The maximum load of 135 kg refers to the static load of a single wheel. Under dynamic loads (sudden braking, travelling over thresholds) the actual load capacity may be lower. On two-wheeled trolleys the total capacity is the sum of the capacity of both wheels, but the distribution of the load's weight must also be taken into account.
