A tool for mechanically removing air bubbles from concrete screeds and self-levelling compounds. The 28 mm spikes penetrate the fresh mix, eliminating air pockets that could weaken the structure of the substrate.
This parameter defines the width of screed de-aerated in a single pass. A 230 mm width works well on medium and large surfaces, allowing the working area to be covered quickly without excessive operator fatigue.
The 28 mm spike length matches the standard thickness of self-levelling compounds (20-40 mm). Arranging the spikes in 16 rows ensures dense coverage and effective removal of air bubbles throughout the full depth of the layer.
The diameter affects working ergonomics and the downward force applied. A 100 mm roller strikes a balance between ease of rolling and the effectiveness with which the spikes penetrate the mix.
The spikes mechanically pierce the surface of the screed so that trapped air can escape. This prevents micro-voids from forming, which could otherwise weaken the structure and lead to cracks once the material has set.

Roll the tool over the freshly poured compound in crossing directions, starting from the wall opposite the exit. The spikes should penetrate the full thickness of the layer, but without excessive pressure that could disturb the surface level. How long you de-aerate for depends on the setting time of the compound - typically 15-30 minutes from pouring.
Spike length should be close to the thickness of the screed, with a margin of 5-10 mm. For 28 mm spikes the optimum layer thickness is 25-35 mm. Spikes that are too short will not remove air from the lower layers; spikes that are too long may damage the insulation or the base.
Immediately after finishing work, immerse the roller in water or clean it with a stiff-bristled brush before the compound sets. Once concrete has dried, remove it mechanically or chemically using cement-dissolving products.
