A 1/2" spline socket for nuts and bolts with an 8 mm spline recess. Designed for use with torque wrenches, ratchets and handles with a 1/2" drive.
The spline socket has a multi-spline internal profile that spreads the load over a larger area than a standard hexagon. This reduces the risk of rounding off the edges of the bolt or nut, especially on worn fasteners or those made from soft materials.
A chromium-vanadium alloy is characterised by high hardness and wear resistance. The addition of vanadium improves the crystal structure of the steel, which translates into greater mechanical strength and resistance to cracking under load.
The knurling in the middle section of the socket makes it easier to grip and handle the tool when working in hard-to-reach places. The knurled surface stops the socket slipping out of your hand, even when it is covered in oil or grease.
The combination of polished and sand-blasted surfaces provides an optimal balance between appearance and function. The polished areas are easier to clean, while the sand-blasted areas improve grip and hide the minor scratches picked up during use.

The socket works with all tools fitted with a 1/2" square drive: ratchets, swivel handles, torque wrenches, impact drivers and extension bars. Before buying, check that the bolts or nuts have a spline profile rather than a standard hexagon.
Before use, check the socket for cracks, chipping or deformation of the internal profile. A damaged tool can round off fasteners and cause permanent damage to them.
After use, clean the socket of any dirt and dry it. Storing it in a damp environment can lead to surface corrosion, despite the use of alloy steel. Storing it in organisers or tool kits is recommended, as this prevents loss and makes it quicker to find the right size.
Do not use spline sockets as lever extensions or strike them with a hammer. Doing so can crack the material or deform the square drive, which makes it impossible to seat the socket correctly on a ratchet.
