An electric starter motor designed for GEKO generators. The mechanism provides automatic starting of the combustion engine in generators fitted with an electric starting system.
The starter motor converts electrical energy from the battery into rotary motion that turns the crankshaft of the combustion engine. It removes the need to start the generator manually with a recoil pull cord.
The housing is made from materials resistant to the vibration and environmental conditions typical of generator operation. The gear mechanism ensures correct engagement with the flywheel ring gear during starting.
The electrical and mechanical parameters are matched to the specification of the GEKO K00257 generator. The mounting dimensions and hole pattern match the original mounting on the engine housing.
Fitting requires unbolting the old starter motor, transferring the electrical cables and bolting the new component in place. Checking the condition of the battery and the electrical connections before first start-up is recommended.
| Manufacturer | GEKO |
| Part number | CK00257-23 |
| Product type | Electric starter motor for generators |
| Compatibility | GEKO K00257 generator |
| Application | Spare part / electric starting component |
Typical symptoms: no response when the key is turned, a click with no engine rotation, slow crankshaft turning despite a charged battery, and a grinding noise during a starting attempt. Before replacing the starter motor, check the condition of the battery (minimum 12.4V at rest) and that the terminals are clean and tightened.
Disconnect the battery (negative terminal first). Unscrew the electrical cables from the starter motor, noting their layout. Remove the mounting bolts and take out the old starter motor. Fit the new component, tighten the cables (tightening torque as per the generator manual) and reconnect the battery. Check that it operates correctly without cranking the engine for longer than 5 seconds.
