A swivel bench vice with a cast iron construction, designed for the precise clamping of workpieces during workshop, modelling and hobby tasks. The 360° swivel mechanism provides access to the workpiece from any side without the need to reposition it.
The swivel mechanism allows the position of the workpiece to be changed without opening the jaws. This function is useful for tasks that require access to different sides of the item – milling, filing, angled drilling or applying coatings.
The material provides stability during machining and damps vibrations produced during filing or drilling. Cast iron is resistant to deformation and offers a long service life under workshop conditions.
A width of 75 mm (3 inches) matches the typical dimensions of components in modelling, electronics and minor repairs. A maximum jaw opening of 40 mm allows workpieces up to 4 cm in diameter to be clamped.
The vice is mounted to the workbench top by means of a clamp screw with a clamping range of 28 mm. This solution allows quick removal and relocation of the vice without the need to drill holes in the bench top.
| Model | VOREL 36018 |
| Jaw width | 75 mm (3 inches) |
| Maximum jaw opening | approx. 40 mm |
| Clamping range on bench top | 28 mm |
| Body material | Cast iron |
| Design type | Swivel (360°) |
| Mounting method | Bench-mounted, clamp screw |
Before purchase, measure the thickness of the workbench top – the clamping range is 28 mm. For thinner bench tops, a spacer can be used; for thicker ones, a different mounting system or modification of the clamp screw will be necessary.
Before first use, check the operation of the swivel mechanism and the lead screw. The jaws should be cleaned regularly of swarf and dust, and the thread of the lead screw should be greased periodically with machine grease or machine oil.
When working with items that have a delicate surface, protective jaw pads are recommended – pieces of rubber, leather or wood may be used. This will protect the material from scratches and deformation.
The vice is not intended for working on heavy components or for tasks requiring high clamping forces. The maximum load should be suited to the capabilities of the cast iron construction and the bench mounting system.
