VOREL 14200 20 m fibreglass tape measure
A 20-metre fibreglass tape measure designed for linear measurement in construction, surveying and renovation work. The fibreglass construction provides resistance to stretching and dimensional stability when measuring longer distances.

Fibreglass construction
Fibreglass has a minimal stretch factor under tension, which ensures repeatable measurements. The material resists moisture, temperature and UV radiation, making the tape suitable for use in harsh outdoor conditions.
20-metre reach

Fibreglass versus steel - differences in use
Fibreglass tapes do not conduct electricity, which makes them safer near electrical installations. Compared with steel tapes, they are lighter and more resistant to corrosion, but they require more careful handling because they are less resistant to punctures and cuts.
Use and maintenance
Before every measurement, check the condition of the tape, paying attention to any damage to the fibres, tears or worn graduations. Unwind the tape smoothly, avoiding sudden jerks that could damage the fibreglass structure.
After finishing the measurement, rewind the tape using the handle, keeping the tension under control and avoiding twisting. Do not leave the tape unwound for longer periods, particularly when it is exposed to the weather.
Store the tape in a dry place, away from heat sources and sharp objects. The housing should be kept closed to protect the tape from dirt and mechanical damage. It is worth checking measurement accuracy periodically by comparing the readings with a standard of known length.
Checking the accuracy of a tape measure
The accuracy of the tape can be checked by comparing its readings with another verified measuring instrument or a length standard. If deviations exceeding the permitted tolerances are found, the tape should be replaced with a new one, particularly for work requiring high precision.
