An 8-metre tape measure with a 25 mm wide steel blade. A measuring tool with Class II accuracy, fitted with a dual blade-locking system and a sliding end hook.
The 25 mm width provides greater blade rigidity over longer distances. The steel blade construction allows measurements of up to 8 metres, with the blade extending 2–3 metres without support, which matters when measuring at height or in hard-to-reach places.
Class II accuracy means a maximum measuring error of ±1.5 mm over 8 metres. This parameter defines the tolerance range in line with European standards and is sufficient for most construction, joinery and installation work.
Two independent locking buttons allow the blade to be stopped in any position. This system improves reading precision and prevents the blade from retracting uncontrolled during use, which is particularly important when measuring unaided.
The metallised plastic case, reinforced with rubber grips, increases resistance to drops and provides an ergonomic hold. The rubber elements absorb shocks and prevent the tool from slipping in the hand during work in varying conditions.
| Model | VOREL 11608 |

The sliding hook compensates for its own thickness when taking internal and external measurements. This mechanism automatically adjusts the zero point of the measurement depending on how the hook is engaged, removing the need to manually add or subtract the thickness of the hook from the result.
Before starting a measurement, check that the blade is clean and dry. Sand, dirt or moisture can affect how smoothly the blade retracts and the accuracy of the locking mechanism. After use, it is worth wiping the blade with a dry cloth, particularly after working in damp or dusty conditions.
The automatic retraction mechanism requires periodic maintenance. If the blade retracts too slowly or with resistance, a small amount of silicone grease can be applied to the blade. Avoid mineral oils, which can damage the rubber parts of the case.
When working with the tape measure at height, it is advisable to secure the tool against falling with a lanyard or tether. A fall from height can damage the retraction mechanism or deform the blade, which will affect measuring accuracy.
