Features of the YATO YT-7112 tape measure
8-metre length
A measuring reach sufficient for most building and renovation applications. It removes the need to reposition the tool repeatedly when measuring longer distances, which speeds up the work and reduces the risk of error.
25 mm blade width
The wider blade provides better stiffness and stability when extended over greater distances. It makes the scale easier to read and increases mechanical durability under frequent use.
Class II accuracy to EN standard
The maximum permissible measuring error is ±1.1 mm over 8 metres. This means sufficient precision for most building, finishing and joinery work where surveying-grade measurements are not required.
ABS case with anti-slip coating
ABS plastic is resistant to impacts and drops. The rubber coating provides a secure grip even when wearing work gloves and damps vibration when the blade is retracted.
Steel blade with nylon coating
The nylon layer protects the steel against abrasion, scratching and corrosion. It extends the life of the tape measure and prevents the printed scale from fading under the influence of moisture and mechanical factors.
Magnetic hook

How to check a tape measure's accuracy class
Class II means that the maximum permissible error is ±(0.7 + 0.05L) mm, where L is the length in metres. For an 8-metre blade this gives an error of ±1.1 mm. Information about the class is marked on the tape measure case or at the start of the blade.
Using and maintaining the tape measure
Before first use, check the condition of the hook and make sure that its movement is not restricted. During work, extend the blade with a smooth motion, avoiding abrupt jerks that could damage the spring mechanism.
After finishing a measurement, hold the blade and let it retract under control rather than letting it snap back. This protects the return mechanism and prevents the hook from striking the case with great force.
Clean the blade regularly of dust and dirt with a dry cloth. If it comes into contact with moisture, it is worth extending the full blade and letting it dry before retracting it. The use of solvents, which may damage the nylon coating, is not recommended.
Store the tape measure in a dry place, away from sources of heat and moisture. When transporting it, protect the case against impacts that could damage the locking mechanism or the return spring.
