Tape Measure 5 m x 25 mm YT-7111 YATO
A 5-metre tape measure with a nylon-coated steel blade. A measuring tool with an ABS case and magnetic hook, intended for construction, carpentry and renovation work.
Features of the YATO YT-7111 tape measure
Nylon-coated steel blade
The nylon coating increases the blade's resistance to mechanical abrasion and protects it against discolouration caused by contact with moisture. The blade keeps its millimetre scale legible for longer in use.
25 mm blade width
The wide blade stays rigid for up to approximately 2 metres, which allows measurements to be taken without supporting the blade. The 25 mm width makes the scale easier to read and reduces the risk of the blade kinking during work.
ABS case with anti-slip rubber
The ABS plastic housing is resistant to knocks and drops from working height. The rubber inserts improve the grip of the case in the hand, which matters when working in gloves or in damp conditions.
Sliding magnetic hook
The hook is fitted with a neodymium magnet that holds onto metal surfaces, so measurements can be taken without a second person. The sliding hook mounting compensates for its thickness in internal and external measurements, improving reading accuracy.

Accuracy class II
Accuracy class II denotes the permissible measuring tolerance in accordance with EN ISO 3676. For a 5-metre tape measure, the maximum permissible deviation is ±1.1 mm. Class II is the standard for construction and renovation applications where millimetre-level accuracy is required.

Use and maintenance
Before first use, check the condition of the blade and the retracting mechanism. The blade should be retracted slowly, controlling its movement, to avoid the hook striking the case sharply. After finishing work, wipe the blade with a dry cloth, removing any contamination that could accelerate wear of the nylon coating.
The blade locking mechanism is located at the top of the case. Pressing the button stops the blade in the selected position; pressing it again releases the lock. Regular cleaning of the spring mechanism extends the life of the tape measure.
The magnetic hook needs protection from knocks, which can weaken the magnet's strength or damage the sliding mounting. When measuring metal components, check that the hook is seated securely, so as to avoid shifting the zero point.
Storage conditions
Store the tape measure in a dry place, away from sources of moisture and aggressive chemicals. Avoid leaving the tool in places exposed to direct sunlight, which can weaken the mechanical properties of the ABS plastic.
