A precision workshop angle gauge for measuring the tightening angle of bolts and nuts using the torque-angle method. The tool works with 1/2" torque wrenches and allows you to control the final tightening of components in line with vehicle and machine manufacturers' requirements.
A 0-360° range with a 2° scale allows precise reading of the angle of rotation during the final tightening of bolts using the torque-angle method, which is required when fitting cylinder heads, wheels or suspension components.
A 35 cm flexible arm with a strong magnet at the end lets you mount the angle gauge securely on metal surfaces – a torque wrench, engine block or vehicle body – making the job easier, as you do not have to hold the tool.
The rotating mechanism is made from chrome vanadium steel, which resists mechanical wear and corrosion. This material offers increased hardness and strength, extending the tool's service life in workshop conditions.
The 1/2" (12.7 mm) square drive works with standard torque wrenches used in automotive and industrial workshops. It connects directly to a ratchet or extension bar.

The torque-angle method involves tightening bolted joints in two stages. In the first stage, the bolt is tightened with a torque wrench to a specified initial torque (e.g. 40 Nm). In the second stage, the bolt is turned through a precisely defined angle (e.g. 90° or 180°), which ensures the correct preload in the joint regardless of dimensional tolerances.
Vehicle manufacturers use this method in particular for cylinder head bolts, connecting rod bolts and other critical joints, where conventional torque-only tightening may not provide consistent preload. The workshop angle gauge allows precise control of the second tightening stage.
Before buying, make sure your torque wrench has a 1/2" (12.7 mm) square drive. The angle gauge is mounted between the wrench and the socket or extension bar. The flexible arm with magnet attaches to the metal part of the wrench or another stable surface near the work area. Before starting work, zero the angle gauge reading in its starting position.
Before each use, check the condition of the rotating mechanism and the legibility of the scale. Mount the angle gauge so that the pointer rotates freely without jamming. After use, clean the tool of dirt and oil and store it in a dry place.
Do not use the angle gauge as a lever or subject it to impact. The chrome vanadium steel dial needs occasional lubrication with a light lubricant if rotation resistance increases noticeably. Protect the magnetic arm from excessive bending, which can weaken its spring properties.
When working in an environment exposed to chemicals (engine oils, service fluids), clean the plastic housing regularly to prevent degradation. The angle scale should remain legible – if the graduations become obscured, they can be carefully refreshed with a permanent marker.
