Use and maintenance
Checking compatibility
Before starting work, measure the diameter of the track rod joint. Joints smaller than 27 mm or larger than 42 mm require a different tool. Also check that there is sufficient working space around the joint.
Working technique
Centre the puller accurately on the joint before tightening. Apply force gradually and evenly. For heavily seized joints, apply a penetrating fluid and wait a few minutes before trying again.
Tool maintenance
After use, clean the puller of dirt and grease. Regularly check the condition of the threads and the adjustment mechanism. Store in a dry place, protected against corrosion.
